Week 1, Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2!
I can't believe it's Term 2...already! Eeeek! It felt like Term 1 was going really slowly, and then BOOM, now we're in Term 2!
This morning we had a powhiri, to welcome all the new students who were joining, or had recently joined New Windsor. Whaea Tini led the powhiri assembly with her husband. They have such awesome singing voices!
Straight after the powhiri, we all went back to our classes to break the tapu. Breaking the tapu is a significant part of the powhiri. It is like breaking, or closing, the sacred and official part of the powhiri. In our class, we were able to get a little snack from our bags and have something to eat, so that we could break the tapu.
Once this part of our day was finished, we were straight back into our learning for Term 2!
